Amazon has launched a new version of the Kindle Colorsoft, now priced at $250, making it $30 cheaper than the original model. This new model features 16GB of storage, which is half the capacity of its more expensive counterpart. Although this may seem limiting, most eBooks only require about 2MB each, suggesting that 16GB could suffice for average users. Notably, the cheaper model lacks some features like auto-adjusting front light and wireless charging found in the Signature Edition but retains a 7-inch color E Ink display and up to eight weeks of battery life. Alongside this, Amazon has also introduced the Kindle Colorsoft Kids version, priced at $270, which includes additional features tailored for children, such as a year of Amazon Kids+ and tools to support literacy.
