Google's Pixel 10 adds a new Journal app that lets users draft notes quickly, attach photos, maps, and Health Connect data, and secure entries with a lock. The Journal includes Gemini Nano powered prompts that suggest topics from past memories to daily goals. An Entries tab lists posts in reverse order while an Insights feed shows patterns with an emoji calendar view. The feature aims to turn the phone into a personal diary that is easy to use and private when needed.

Pixel Recorder gains a music creation option that lets a user hum and have a background track generated after analyzing the beat. The app updates its interface with thicker waveforms and larger buttons for easier recording. Screenshots now integrate NotebookLM, so captured images can be suggested for a notebook. Studio uses the Imagen 4 model for editing tools like Erase and Insert, and even allows background replacement via prompts. Gboard's Writing Tools add grammar checks, rewrites, and tone adjustments, accessible by a pencil icon or voice commands. A Smart Edit feature supports natural language commands to tweak text.

The Pixel 10 shows Google weaving AI into daily tasks across journals, audio and visuals. By linking NotebookLM and other AI tools to everyday work, Google lowers the barrier to using AI in daily life. This could boost productivity but raises questions about how data is used and stored across apps.
