Cunningham left the court in the second quarter and the team did not disclose a specific diagnosis. The IndyStar reported an MCL tear in her right knee. In response, the Fever signed six-year veteran guard Shey Peddy to a seven-day hardship contract and released guard Kyra Lambert. Lambert had played in the final minutes of Sunday's 99-93 win over Connecticut.
The injury compounds a rough stretch for Indiana which has also been without Caitlin Clark for a month due to a groin issue and already lost Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald to season-ending injuries earlier in August.
