Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK) has launched a survey to gather data on the situation, prompting drivers to note the number of available bays as well as whether vehicles are displaying a Blue Badge. Dr Shani Dhanda, a disability inclusion expert, stated that holding individuals accountable for misuse is crucial for ensuring access for those who genuinely need it. The survey will run from July 21 to August 15, with results scheduled to be released the following month. Reports indicate that nearly three million Blue Badge holders exist in the UK, while previous findings revealed that 40% of disabled drivers faced challenges due to lack of available parking.
