Pixel 10 gains Qi2 magnets through official accessories

Google has added Qi2 built-in magnets to the Pixel 10, a feature the company brands as Pixelsnap. This move opens the Google Store to a wave of magnetic accessories from Mous, Case-Mate, Zagg, Bellroy, Force, and Otterbox, with case prices starting around 35 dollars. Other brands like dbrand and Spigen are also using Google branding to participate in the new ecosystem.

Among the offerings, the Mous 2-in-1 Pixelsnap dock stands out. It charges at 15W on the main pad and provides a second 7.5W spot for earbuds. The dock includes side pins that enable modular upgrades with other Mous charging accessories, though standalone options are not yet available. The Google Store price is 89 dollars and includes a 65W adapter, whereas Mous’ own site sells a very similar stand without the adapter for the same price, highlighting pricing differences between the official storefront and brand sites.

This move signals Google is turning the Pixel into a platform, not just a phone. By tying more accessories to Pixelsnap, Google pushes consumer expectations toward seamless, branded charging and mounting experiences. The risk is that the ecosystem grows slowly if third-party options don’t deliver reliable compatibility or if prices rise too high for casual buyers.

In the coming months, the real test will be consumer uptake and the breadth of compatible gear. If Qi2 magnets prove durable across devices and brands, Pixel 10 could become a central hub for everyday tech rituals. If not, the effort may look like a clever start that never reaches critical mass.
