Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 8.0 beta for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. The update is based on Android 16 and is currently available in South Korea and the United Kingdom, with India and the United States expected to follow. The beta download weighs about 3.2GB and uses firmware versions S92xBXXU9ZYH3 in the UK and S92xNKSU9ZYH3 in South Korea. Eligible users can join by opening the Samsung Members app, signing in with the same Samsung account on the device, and tapping the One UI 8 Beta Program banner to enroll. After enrollment, users can install the beta from Settings software update and restart to start using One UI 8.0.

The update introduces a slightly refreshed UI in certain areas, along with improved under the hood performance for Samsung DeX and Secure Folder. Quick Share has been redesigned to better separate sending and receiving actions, and the system includes enhancements to alarms, calendar entries, and reminders. Secure Folder now leverages Androids native Private Space for added protection, while DeX gains a more reliable Desktop Mode built on Android 16 features.

Samsung is using a controlled beta to refine One UI 8.0 before a broader release, signaling a careful approach to software beyond hardware upgrades.
