Darwin Nunez completes move to Al Hilal for €65m
Al Hilal have completed the signing of Darwin Nunez from Liverpool after a medical in Germany as part of a deal valued at about €53 million upfront and up to €65 million with performance related add-ons.
Nunez, 26, joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 for a club record fee and went on to make 143 appearances for the Reds, scoring 40 goals. Last season he featured 30 times in the league, starting eight times and tallying five goals.
Liverpool rejected a €70 million bid from Al Nassr in January as they prioritised challenging for the Premier League title. Milan and Napoli monitored the striker, but Al Hilal offered the strongest financial package. Liverpool have since strengthened their forward options with Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez joining this summer.
