Microsoft Study Reveals Jobs Most Affected by AI Chatbots

Microsoft researchers analyzed the impact of AI chatbots on various careers using a dataset of 200,000 conversations with the Copilot chatbot. They found that occupations like translators, historians, and writers are likely to be affected the most because they involve providing and communicating information. Conversely, jobs such as dredge operators showed the least overlap with AI capabilities. While the study sheds light on the types of occupations at risk, it does not address whether the adoption of AI will eliminate or create jobs, a discussion that remains contentious among industry leaders. Kiran Tomlinson, a senior researcher and lead author of the study, emphasized the importance of ongoing research to understand AI's societal and economic effects.
