Police said he and a second man, Sa Mafutaga, 21, were in distress around 6 p.m. Mafutaga was hospitalized and is expected to recover. The reservoir remained closed as investigators worked at the scene.
UNO officials said Deng joined the program this summer and had previously played at Judge Memorial High School in Magna and at the University of North Dakota.
