Electronic Arts has announced Battlefield 6 will run as a multi stage open beta ahead of the October release. Players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC can pre load now and join during three stages, with Weekend 2 running August 14 to 17. Start times vary by region and the open weekends do not require a code for access.

By the end of the beta the lineup will include four modes across four maps. Weekend 1 introduces several maps and modes, while Weekend 2 opens the remaining content to broaden play options and test matchmaking with a larger pool of players.

The staged beta approach helps EA manage server load while gathering feedback before the full launch. Opening access to everyone during the weekends lowers barriers and builds early momentum, while the PS Plus Double XP offer nudges curious players to jump in and stay engaged.
