Apple code reviewed by MacRumors shows the next Studio Display, codenamed J427, will house the unreleased A19 Pro chip. The device is expected alongside the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max next month. The current Studio Display was released in 2022 and uses the A13 Bionic from the iPhone 11 era. The A19 Pro would enable features such as Center Stage, Spatial Audio and Hey Siri on the display.

Rumors suggest the next Studio Display could debut in early 2026, alongside new Macs. Details remain scarce, but whispers point to improvements such as mini LED backlighting for brighter colors and better contrast. The move would reflect a broader Apple push toward computing power inside accessories, signaling a future where a display is a more capable member of the computing setup.

If Apple indeed puts computing work on the Studio Display chip, desks become more flexible. The change could improve video processing, camera effects and voice assistant tasks on the screen, but it also raises questions about how buyers value the premium and how quickly suppliers can scale.
